Moving somewhere new can feel a little scary, weird, or exciting all at once. That is totally normal, We made this page so you can get a sneak peak at your new home, meet the team, and see all the cool things we do together!
What is Steady Hands Care Like?
Think of Steady Hands Care as a safe, cozy place where you can just be you. It's not a school, and it doesn't feel like an office - it's a real house with a comfy living room, a big kitchen, a garden to hang out in, and most importantly... your own bedroom!
In your new home, you get:
- Your Own Space: A private bedroom that you can decorate however you like! Posters, fairy lights, football flags - you choose.
- Tasty Food: You help us make the weekly shopping list. What's your favourite meal? Pizza, pasta, roast dinner or tacos? We'll make sure it's one the menu.
- Fun & Games: We have a variety of games, movie nights with tons of popcorn, and arts & crafts.
- A Chill space: Need some quiet time to listen to music or read? You'll always have peace and quiet whenever you need it.

Fun Stuff We Do Together
We love getting out and about! Depending on what you enjoy doing, we go on all kinds of adventures:
- High-Energy Fun: Trampoline parks, climbing walls, swimming, and football.
- Day Trips: Trips to local farms, zoos, theme parks, and the beach.
- Exploring: Walks in the park and grabbing ice cream... (I know sounds good right!)
- Quieting outings: Cinema trips, library visits, or just exploring local shops.
Got a favourite hobby like dancing, gaming, drawing or playing an instrument? We'll help you keep doing it - or help you start a brand new one!

- Can I bring my own things?
Yes, Absolutely!
Bring your favourite clothes, toys, photos, blankets, games, or whatever makes you feel happy and safe. This is your home, so your stuff comes with you. - Will I go to school?
Yep!
Education is super important . We'll help you get to school every day, help with homework when you get stuck, and celebrate when you do great! - What if I feel sad or angry?
That is 100% okay.
Everyone has bad days. You don't need to pretend to be happy all the time. If you're feeling down, angry, or overwhelmed, you can talk to us, or we can just sit with you quietly until you feel better. - Do I get a say in things?
Always.We have regular resident meetings where you can tell us what food you want, what trips you want to go on, or if there's anything about the house you'd like to change. Your voice matters here.
